Sit down!

Various blog entries made me look up something I read recently on the topic of men sitting down to pee. An article on discussed the growing trend in men sitting to pee. The lead in the article is that a court in Germany verified the right of men to urinate standing up if they choose. The article then discusses the growth in men that do choose to sit to pee and cites various reasons from feminism, public health, personal health and a rise in toilet associations.

Strikingly* absent from the article was any consideration for the great surge in sales of various chastity devices. You know that when you have to worry about cloned chastity devices from China, there’s SOME kind of great rise in men getting their junk locked up. Now, I know some chastity devices allow men to urinate while standing but I would hazard a guess that most locked men will find themselves sitting for two reasons: spray and ‘assuming the position’. Few of the devices really allow free pee, so there’s always a risk of urine splashing on ones pants or shorts. Sure, there IS a plus of having the metal recognized by a bystander standing at a urinal, leading to the inevitable conversation that might be started. (This mirrors a recent post by Terri about Clock and Collar’s post where he is required to admit his chastity to strangers).

And then there’s the multi faceted question of sitting down because it’s:

  • submissive
  • feminine
  • demeaning
  • “What she orders”

Sure, one person’s demeaning is another person’s offensive gesture. That’s okay, kink your own kink.

Sit or stand – the option

Still, back to the major idea – that more dicks are actually locked up and that also pushes men to be sitting while they pee. The article doesn’t address that.

And perhaps there could have been recognition that, even without chastity, there are more men submitting to women and being told to sit down to pee at home and abroad. Myself, living in a house with three women and myself being mostly submissive, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve stood before the throne in order to unleash the doctor’s uncollected golden sample. Primarily, I sit all of the time. Yes, there’s a measure of my doing so to be able to say “I don’t know who pee’d terribly and made a mess, but it wasn’t me!” but there’s another part of me that respects the women in the house who don’t want to see that kind of spray and mess and, well, I’d like to think that my roommates secretly would be happy to know that the man in the house submissively sits for THEIR comfort and cleanliness. But I have no evidence that they know I’m doing it for that reason. That’s probably better all around at this point.

*Not quite strikingly as I bet the vast majority of vice readers do not, in fact, consider male chastity as a headline story.

  1. I myself fail to see the hygiene in sitting down in a public toilet compared to a potential aiming mishap! Think about it, would you be okay with your bare flesh touching a seat that has held the bare flesh of 100’s before you?

I’ll stick to standing thank you muchly, not quite what you were saying with your post but had to add my two cents even if it was off the mark ;) see what i did there?

  2. In a Dominant relationship, the Dominant’s position is the default. Why should My boy be spared the toilet sitting experience when I am not? And if he never puts the seat up, he cannot forget to put it down, which saves Me the displeasurable feelings that arise from cold porcelain at 3am. I think an internalized willingness to give up a male prerogative for the comfort of his Woman is a wonderful thing and I celebrate it. By all means, chaste or not, sit boy! Until I decide I *want* you to stand in a public loo and be noticed, and then I want a full report of the experience.

  3. John,

Certainly an interesting article and post and thanks for the mention. As my submissive in chastity, terri certainly sits to pee. However, that practice was put in place many years ago when we implemented our first D/s contract (remember when those were popular?).

I also enjoyed your four bullet points – They serve as excellent reminders of why a submissive squats the way he does when peeing. Something for them to think about.

Finally, as a medical professional let me assure everyone there’s virtually no risk of any infection or disease by sitting on a dirty toilet seat. If it’s dirty, wipe it down.

    • Welcome to the blog Diane. Glad to hear you chiming in.

And thanks also for the comments on risks of infection from toilet seats. I’ve personally never worried about that, but have worried about those inconsiderate folks who leave a spray of whatever in their wakes. Sheesh. Accuracy people! What are you doing, standing up with a CB-3000 on?! ;)

  4. i also sit to pee now. After the initial transition, it really makes more sense in a number of ways. i’ll admit, being out at events, i will stand (trying to hide my pink panties as i stand there, lol!). Recently, at home i made a bad mistake — Wife kept me out after drinking beer at bar, as She talked longer to her friend. By the time She drove me home, i ran into the bathroom, desperate! I stood up… don’t do this. She admonished me seriously about 30 minutes later, when She sat on a wet seat. sara

  5. I am not required to sit to pee but I will admit, mostly, in the middle of the night when I am awakened to pee, tired and stumbling toward the toilet, it’s just easier to sit on the perfectly clean (at home) toilet seat and pee. I agree with sara e, being able to pee standing up in public when wearing panties is a plus.

    Great post!
